Today, I (Marykate) felt 100% better after the blood transfusion. I'm having a very little bit of phantom "pain", which is more like a numbness that feels like my hand "fell asleep" for a few days. I am walking around quite a bit today, and feel a lot more normal. Also food is starting to taste good again. Especially baked potatoes!!!! Weird, huh?!

Anyway, thank you for all of your comments, support, and prayers. They really mean a lot to me. I"ll write again soon.

  3. Hi Marykate! I finally heard about this blog. It's great! I like it a lot better than the second and third hand bits of info that come through the "techno challenged" who don't have / use the internet, LOL. (Like your grandma and uncle Paul! :-)) Thanks, Julie, for starting this...and it was great to read your posting, Marykate! Keeping you in lots of prayers and on lots of prayer lists! Since I'm trying this writing thing I'm using lots of "social media" so you've been prayed for worldwide! Anyway, glad you're feeling better after the transfusion, and it will be nice to keep up with you this way! God Bless! Shelley

  4. Even though you don't know me, I go to your church and wanted to let you know I've been praying for you.

So glad to hear you are feeling better, and I'm thinking of you this week as you heal from your surgery.

  5. Marykate,

I'm a good friend of Keven's and he has been keeping me updated on how things are going for you and your recent surgery. His updates have helped me know how to pray for you and your current situation each day. This weekend he sent me your blog link and I was amazed at how much you look like your mother, whom I've met a few times at family outings. I'm glad you have such a great support system in your family, friends and Church. If you want something to look forward to...how about planning a ski day, next winter, with Kev & I? Each new day will bring challenges and changes in your life. I'm thankful that you will have His hope to get you through. There will be days of wonder, but one day you will look back and see the big picture. I just wanted to let you know that you are in my thoughts and prayers as you face each new day. May you experience His peace, patience, love, strength, guidance and hope each day as you continue healing. Thanks for the updates and for sharing your life with us - even though some of us have never met you face to face...but plan to some day. Kev's friend Kyla

  6. It's good to hear that you are doing much better today. I'm glad that you are able to eat finally. I especially liked baked potatoes when I was pregnant with our last boy. That doesn't explain why you like them so much though. Anyway, I'm praying for your continued healing and mental and emotional strength.

    Blessings,
    Lisa Williams
